ITGSS Certified Technology Specialist Practice Exam

Information security is primarily concerned with preserving three key properties of information: availability, integrity, and confidentiality. Each of these elements plays a vital role in maintaining effective security measures within an organization.

Availability ensures that information and resources are accessible to authorized users when needed, maintaining operational efficiency. Integrity refers to the accuracy and reliability of information, ensuring that data is not altered or tampered with by unauthorized individuals. Confidentiality involves protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access and ensuring that it remains private.

The property mentioned in the answer, confidence, does not represent a core principle within the framework of information security. While building confidence in security measures and practices is important for users and stakeholders, it is not classified as a primary property that information security aims to preserve. Rather, it could be seen as a byproduct of effectively managing availability, integrity, and confidentiality within an organization's information systems.
